Paul’s contradictions of Jesus

PAUL vs. JESUS – A List of Contradictory and Incompatible Statements – By Edgar Jones

The text below is from an unknown source.

1.  Jesus Says Not To Eat Meat Sacrificed to Idols,

           Revelation 2:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.

           Revelation 2:20 New International Version (NIV)

 20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

 But, Paul Says It Is Ok.

       1 Corinthians 8:4-13 New International Version (NIV)

But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

 2. Jesus Says The Law Continues,

 Matthew 5:17-19 American Standard Version (ASV)

17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

Luke 16:17 New International Version (NIV)

17 It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.

But, Paul Says No.

           Galatians 2:16 New International Version (NIV):

16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

            Romans 7:4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.

3. Jesus Says Salvation Initiates And Continues By Repentance From Sin and Obedience(following the Law) Besides Faith;

           Luke 15 New International Version (NIV) – I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.

              Matthew 23:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.

 But, Paul Tells Church He is a Teacher, And There Are Many Pastors and Teachers.

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He told them this parable, saying, “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

But, Paul Excludes Eating With Sinners.

              1 Corinthians 5:9 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;

 8.      Jesus Teaches Insecurity to a Sinning Believer,

              Matthew 7:19-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

 But,  Paul Teaches We are Eternally Secure.

16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

 But, Paul Says Salvation Does Not Depend Upon Exertion.
